Nissan Qashqai: C1110 / C1111 & C1132 Fault Codes | The Solution
Nissan's Qashqai has been a fan favourite amongst British buyers since its launch. It's a combination of British build, reliability, and affordability that has proved popular and remained so. In 2022, it was the UK's best-selling car, the first time a British-built car had held that title for over 20 years, and just a year later, in 2023, it was voted the most reliable car of the year.
Of course, like any car, they're not immune to failure, which is something we can help to address.
So, what do these fault codes mean?
C1110, C1111 and C1132 are brand-specific fault codes and therefore will only appear in the control units of Nissan vehicles.
- C1110 indicates a controller failure
- C1111 indicates there is an issue with the ABS pump motor
- C1132 indicates a CAN-related issue
In many cases, these codes present themselves together, but often point towards an issue with the Bosch 8 ESP unit.
What Nissan models are likely to be impacted?
What are the symptoms?
Any Qashqai with a combination, or a single one of the above fault codes stored, will almost certainly have ABS issues. The warning light will be illuminated, and the pump motor may continue to run, even after the car has been switched off.
What causes the faults?
The usual suspect is an internal fault within the ABS units' electronic control unit. Though the majority of pump motor faults are often caused by a bad earth or a bad power supply to the ABS unit, it is worth inspecting these too!
