What is car overhaul?


Car overhaul is the repair, restoration and reuse of car parts. With reconditioning of car parts you do not have to buy new parts, but used parts are returned to new condition. This is a lot cheaper than purchasing a completely new part. In addition, remanufacturing is a sustainable option, because fewer new car parts need to be produced and less waste is created.

Revise list of car parts

Many electronic car parts can be overhauled. ACtronics specializes in reconditioning the following car parts:

  • ABS unit repair
    This concerns the overhaul of the entire ABS unit or of individual components, such as the ABS pump, the HCU or pressure sensors. ABS or ESP repair is one of the most common overhaul assignments within ACtronics.
  • BCM repair
    This concerns an overhaul of the Body Control Module, the electronic control unit of a vehicle.
  • ECU repair
    This concerns an overhaul of the engine management computers. ECU stands for Electronic Control Unit. During the overhaul we focus on semiconductors, chips, sensors and hybrid connections (bonds).
  • Throttle body repair
    This involves overhauling the throttle body or ECU, depending on where exactly the problem is located. Throttle body overhaul can be either mechanical or electronic.
  • Info display repair
    Revision of info displays is an option if there are dead pixels, black lines or a completely black display. We usually overhaul info displays by using custom made flat cables.
  • Instrument panel repair
    Overhaul of instrument panels involves repairing and improving defective processors, stepper motors or displays.
  • Inverter repair
    An inverter or converter is the heart of an electric car. Inverter overhaul focuses on restoring energy recovery and charging technology.
  • Climate control panel repair
    Revision of an ACC panel focuses on repairing defective buttons, displays and sensors.
  • OBC repair
    Overhaul of the on-board charger focuses on repairing the transformer, the bidirectional rectifier or the charge controller.
  • TCU repair
    Overhaul of the Transmision Control Unit consists of repairing sensors and actuators that control the car's transmission.
  • Turbo actuator repair
    A turbo actuator can be overhauled if there are problems with the turbo pressure. The electric motor, worm gear or actuator circuit board may be defective and need to be replaced.
