DF002 is an error code that can indicate various problems on Renault vehicles, but usually indicates an internal electronic defect or a fault in the temperature sensor circuit. In this article we focus specifically on this description, identifying the problem on the following cars (with petrol engines!):
The main symptoms associated with this error code are failure to control the throttle valve and injectors. This can result in the car going into limp mode, little to no response to the accelerator pedal (above a certain speed), or even the car not starting. As a result, the check engine light may come on. Error code DF002 is often seen in combination with Renault error codes DF058 (lambda probe) and DF254 (throttle valve).
First perform the basic tests to check that the wiring, connectors, etc. are in order. Also check that the problem is not caused by a defect in the throttle body. If everything seems fine, there is a good chance that the problem is caused by a faulty ECU, in this case specifically the Siemens Sirius 34 ECU.
