Error code U1733 is often read in Fiat Group vehicles and refers to a problem with the Blue&Me module, which is responsible for the communication and functionality of the hands-free system via Bluetooth.
Error code U1733 can be read in various models of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Group, usually in models produced between 2007 and 2016. Common cars in which this error code occurs include:
There are several symptoms that can possibly cause error code U1733. For example, the odometer reading in the display may flash, the (hands-free) Bluetooth function may not work and/or there may be other faults related to the Blue&Me infotainment system.
These symptoms indicate communication problems between the electronic modules in the car. The error code indicates a fault in the CAN bus communication, the network responsible for communication between different systems in the vehicle. If the Blue&Me module does not function properly, this can also lead to battery problems, such as the battery draining more quickly.
The best solution for OBD-II error code U1733 is to have the Blue&Me unit reconditioned. Reconditioning offers a sustainable and cost-efficient solution instead of purchasing a new module. A reconditioned module ensures that communication between the modules is restored and that problems such as a flashing odometer and Bluetooth interference disappear.
At ACTRONICS, the Blue&Me module is professionally reconditioned, whereby the module meets the original specifications again. This ensures that electrical malfunctions, such as error code U1733, are effectively resolved without the high costs of a new module. The reconditioned module is supplied Plug & Play, which means that reprogramming or learning is not necessary. In addition, ACTRONICS offers a two-year warranty on the work delivered.
The location of the Blue&Me module varies considerably per model. For example, the Blue and Me module is mounted behind the dashboard on the Fiat 500 (accessible by removing the glove compartment). On the Fiat Panda, the unit is located under the driver's or passenger's seat and on the Fiat Ducato, under the radio.
