Coil: A defective coil can cause problems. Note that non-genuine coils also often cause faults
Wiring: Check that all wiring makes good contact, especially on the ECU and around the crankshaft position sensor
Earth cable: Check that the earth cable of the battery makes good contact
Power (+) from the battery: A transition resistance can cause problems in the power supply
Starter motor: Also, check the starter motor. Worn carbon brushes can cause the voltage to drop, and sparking on the carbon brushes can cause voltage peaks, which can, in turn, cause error code P1600 and other CAN complaints
Problems with the ECU itself: Wear or internal errors in the ECU can also be responsible for error code P1600
