The P0D6749 fault code is often seen on the Volvo V60 PHEV Plug-In Hybrid when the control module detects that the On-Board Charger Module (OBC) is unable to charge sufficient power. This fault code indicates a problem with the performance of the Onboard Charger, also known as the OBC.
Issues with the Onboard Charger mean that you won't be able to top up the battery charge via a charging cable. This has an impact on the car's usability and will result in reliance on the combustion engine.
Before inspecting the high-voltage system, it is important to take proper safety precautions to prevent an electric shock. For example, wear insulated gloves and remove the service plug. Keep this service plug with you to prevent others from reconnecting it while you are working on the high-voltage system. After disconnecting the service plug, wait at least 5 minutes before touching the high-voltage connectors or terminals.
