P0141 – O2 Sensor Heater Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2)

The fault code indicates that the heater element of the second oxygen sensor (sensor 2) on bank 1 is registering an abnormally high voltage signal. The heating element is essential for quickly bringing the sensor up to operating temperature and allowing it to provide accurate measurements.

Whilst excessively high-voltage signals can indicate a fault sensor or broken wire, it can also be an issue within the engine ECU.

What are the symptoms of a P0141 fault code?

The engine malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) is on
Increased fuel consumption
Irregular idle speed
Bad cold start
Reduced engine performance
