P132A & P132B fault codes stored in a Ford ECU can indicate problems with the Turbo Actuator, a crucial component in the turbo system.

These faults indicate that there is a deviation in the position of the turbo wastegate or control valve, which leads to problems with the boost pressure regulation. This pressure is regulated by an actuator from Hella, usually fitted to Garrett Turbos. Failure of the Turbo Actuator can lead to these specific error messages

In which Ford models do the P132A & P132B occur in?

P132A & P132B: The Symptoms

Having either the P132A or the P132B fault code stored can result in a variety of symptoms that include:

  • Loss of power during acceleration
  • Excessive smoke from the exhaust
  • The vehicle goes into limp mode, and/or the car will not start
  • Audible abnormal sounds from the turbo, such as whistling or whining sounds
  • In some cases, the engine malfunction light (MIL) is on

P132A & P132B: The Solution

These faults are likely caused by a failure within the electronic valve that regulates the boost pressure. Since this valve is mounted on the turbo and is not available separately, it may be necessary to replace the entire turbo.

However, at ACTRONICS, we're able to remanufacture the Hella Turbo Actuator (Garrett Turbo), saving time and expense! All backed by a two-year warranty.
