When reading the ABS ECU of a Volvo from the turn of the century, the fault code P0070 may appear with the description “Pump Motor Relay Incorrect” and often refers to a problem with the ATE MK20.
Error code P0070 indicates a problem with the pump motor relay in the ABS system. This relay plays a crucial role in activating the ABS pump when necessary. When the ABS ECU (in this case often the ATE MK20) detects an incorrect signal or a malfunction in the operation of the relay, this error code is stored. This can lead to a non-functioning ABS system, with possible consequences for the braking performance of the car.
