In the 1.4 TFSI and 1.4 TSI engines of Audi, Seat, Skoda and Volkswagen (model year 2007-2013) the error code P0245 can occur. This is also displayed as the error codes 16629/000581 and has the description: “Solenoid Valve (A) for Boost Pressure Control (N75): Short to Ground”. This indicates a short circuit to ground in the N75 solenoid valve, which regulates the turbo pressure via a 5V control. If the ECU detects a deviation, this can lead to the activation of the emergency mode, so that no damage is caused to the engine.
The cause of this fault can technically be an incorrect 5V supply from the ECU itself, causing the N75 control valve to inadvertently short circuit to ground. In practice, drivers often report an irregular turbo response, loss of power and possibly the car going into limp home mode. This is often indicated by the engine malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lighting up.
If fault code P0245/16629 occurs, first check the N75 valve and inspect the wiring. This is an important first step, as these two are often the cause of the fault. Are they OK? Then the fault is probably caused by the Bosch MED17.5.5 ECU.
At ACTRONICS we can expertly overhaul the Bosch MED17.5.5 ECU with our specialized repair service, focusing on the internal electronics of the ECU. The overhaul offers a sustainable and cost-effective solution, instead of purchasing a new engine computer, and ensures that the fault code can be erased.
The overhauled module meets the original specifications again and is supplied Plug & Play, which means that reprogramming or learning is not necessary. In addition, ACTRONICS offers a two-year warranty on the work delivered.
Do you have questions about having the MED17.5.5 VAG ECU repaired? Our business technical helpdesk is ready to help you. Our product specialists are available for support on weekdays between 08:00 and 17:00.
