ABS units from Toyota: have them serviced
Toyota is one of the biggest car manufacturers in the world. Due to various mergers, the Japanese brand is no longer number 1, but in contrast to, for example, Volkswagen and General Motors, Toyota largely achieves this stage with their main brand. Worldwide, the Corolla is number one, but in Europe the Aygo and Yaris are also doing very well. Especially with these last two models (the Aygo and the Yaris) we see that the ABS system sometimes breaks down.
The ATE MK60 is used a lot in the Yaris and with this ABS system, the pressure sensor can give problems. Should the pressure sensor malfunction, the ABS light will always come on and error code C1246 will then be shown. The Aygo has a different system fitted: the Bosch 8 ESP. The pump motor is often the problem here. As soon as it stops running, the system can no longer build up any brake pressure and we probably don't need to explain to you that this is a serious problem.
