BMW ABS-units (DSC): we can remanufacture them
The world of ABS and ESP has for decennia been dominated by two large manufacturers: ATE Teves (now part of Continental) and Bosch. Both manufacturers offer a wide range of products. For the luxurious brands they have even created a real Premium-line. It is not surprising that BMW uses many of these premium parts.
Just like Mercedes-Benz, BMW has not chosen to use just one brand. Apparently, BMW reviews per car model which ABS-system (or ESP-system) is most suitable. BMW do use their own DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) name, but the units are still the same.
One type that faults more than anormal in a BMW is the ATE Teves Mk60 and MK60e (also known as the MK61). These come in for remanufacture fairly often.
