Did you know that there are 4 other car brands under Renault? Besides Dacia and Nissan, Lada and Alpine also belong to the Renault group. The entire group is part of the PSA Group, which makes cooperation with Peugeot and Citroën relatively easy. After all, producing on a large scale is very efficient, so many car manufacturers like to work together.
Besides these kinds of collaborations, the car industry also resorts to other forms of large-scale production: standardisation. A good example is the ABS system: over 75% of car brands currently choose a variant from Bosch or ATE (Continental). Renault does this too, especially the Bosch 8 ABS / Bosch 8 ESP, the ATE MK60 and the Continental MK100 ESP can be found in many Renaults. These ABS systems are normally very reliable, but a defect can always occur. For example, the ATE MK60 is known for problems with the internal pressure sensor and the Bosch 8 is known to continue to run the pump. For both problems ACtronics has a remanufacturing solution.
