The Italian automobile company Lancia was founded in 1906 in Turin. It is one of the oldest car manufacturers in the world and is known for its technical innovations and very long history in rally racing. In 1969 Lancia was bought by Fiat.
Until 1975 the company produced not only passenger cars but also trucks, commercial vehicles, military vehicles, buses and trolleybuses. This part of the production was transferred to the brand Iveco, which is also owned by Fiat, and nowadays Lancia is only active in the production of passenger cars.
